Finish Law School: Goal Checked

Alright. So about my uni life which had officially ended, after a pile-full of thoughts (read: procrastination) I need to pen it down before the memory starts to fade and be lost forever. Not only because senilism knows no age but having one of the best times in my life remains unwritten is probably the last thing I’d wish. Continue reading “Finish Law School: Goal Checked”

Lawnite ’16

How indispensable senior year prom, for the need of word… is self-explanatory, durh. It’s safe to admit attending prom for the very last time invites blues to the heart. While half of the heart longs for it, the other half is adamant of not wanting the night to end.

This year marks my fourth aka final time of attending law school’s prom. Seriously, where did all the time in the world gone???? Ours is called Lawnite by the way. Initially I planned to unleash my inner kiasu and go all gung-ho with the prep but in the end I got tensed with my own plan tak jadi so in the end, anything goes… Continue reading “Lawnite ’16”

So Long, Advocacy!

I recall the junior days when I bumped into them seniors in black and white suit, looking exquisitely sharp and classy, like a real solicitor. Everyone knows monochrome falls within the cliché ambit for any law student so the typical response supposedly be ‘mehhhh’ but I can’t help it! I was awed, inspired and (dare I say) anticipated for my turn. Continue reading “So Long, Advocacy!”

Week Fourteen

You may choose not to believe in almost everything in life but you just can’t be a non-believer to this quote – time is gold. In case where gold is not your thing, just substitute gold with something you personally find too precious that you will never, ever trade it with anything else in this world. The reason behind believing in this quote is pretty self-explanatory I guess. No one can fork out cash and buy time nor can anyone offer to sell theirs.

Right here before I knew it, it is already week fourteen in uni which means first term is coming to its end and to add salt to the wound ladies and gents; final exam is already within reachable distance! *insert freaking out emoji*

But in all seriousness, I still have the time to do more and more flat-lay haha!

Well, gonna sit for three papers this final because the other two subjects are 100% continuous-assessment-based. And within this final two days, I only have one advocacy trial, one criminal procedure presentation, four more tutorial classes and an etiquette dinner with big-shot lawyers to give it a go! Also just like anyone else, I worry about not having enough time to properly revise every flick in the syllabus especially when everything is quite clumped up in week fourteen.

That is why I am religiously visiting any nearby cafes to sit down alone and at least starting to scrap off something! Or just another excuse to visit ’em, whichever sounds more relevant.

Depending on how we interpret it, week fourteen can be one helluva ride or the most trouble-free week in a semester. Former is mine, latter is my roommate’s. And in case where your frightened bell is not yet ringing, try to attend revision classes within this eleventh hour. Like this morning we had one with Mrs Mariette Peters and most of us seemed to baru nak ada vision, not doing REvision! Scary I tell you!

So please consider this post as a two-week prior notice of the upcoming hiatus. Blog will be pretty vacant for quite sometimes LOL.

Feeling Green

This was yesterday when my friends and I attended the 29th Azlan Shah Law Lecture in Mandarin Oriental. Finally not missing this event after two consecutive years of not attending! Apart from the need to stuff moi tummy with good foods, this event is advantageous in the sense that it provides the fortune to mingle around with big-shot lawyers and eventually makes us feel like one. After all we are already tiga-suku lawyer what, as contended by Prof Gurdial!

Anyways I’m so, so in love with my Raya weave Duckie over the whole suit. Makes me feel like Becky Bloomwood flaunting over her gorgeous green scarf, dontcha thinks? Well you better say yes. Ain’t no other option than big yes! Or else don’t you ever read my blog again if your answer is not affirmative 😛

One For This Evening

Right now I am in the midst of finishing my Criminal Procedure assignment, accompanied by moderate rain pouring outside the window, alternating my focus between works and Made In Heights’ playlist. Everything about this weather nowadays is extremely soothing; it’s either the rain or clear-blue sky. Well, we might not  be getting chilled by crispy fall here in Malaysia but I save such complaints within myself. Rain also is no shrinking violet what! I love, love everything about the rain! The smell, the sound, the view, the cold!

Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetLike yesterday, I took a stroll around my uni and noticed a park. Durh, not really a proper park like the ones in London of course (sorry to disappoint) but some place where greenery are dominating, perfect for uni ootd shot. You know, those typical shots that make you look smarter or the ones normally uploaded on uni’s official portal? Sadly it is a rare occurrence to see me 24/7-ready for any kind of ootd these days where I am basically made of sweater top, basic jeans, flats, laptop and a very basic satchel/ sling-bag.. Such fashion is no news to any final year student, thank God. Albeit the very sloppy look that even our Queen Beyonce won’t approve, my itchy to do ootd bug still bothers me hence the photos. Hehe.

What a sombre life, no?

In any course, I better get going with my essay. 3000 words and I’m still stuck somewhere in 950. Slow phase, slow phase!

Chow and happy mid-term break fellas!

Conquering Sungai Chilling

Contrary to popular belief, I do love outdoor activities…

Don’t fall off your chair yet and please, for God’s sake pick up the dropping jaw on floor will you? Fine, I may not look like the one who owns Nike Roshe or Stella McCartney for Adidas gears but deep down inside, I enjoy evaporating sweat through my pores, flushing healthy crimson on both cheeks or maybe in the most realistic words, pretending like I am the gorgeous Elsa Hosk doing those ridiculous workouts… Extra points if the activity relates to nature in where my hesitation point is almost untraceable.

That’s why when my MORUM flock decided to conquer Chilling River, I was among the first to nod my agreement and enthusiastically prepared a draft of submission to be presented orally to my very own Federal Court, mi madre. Of course seeking for Mama’s permission equates to submitting memorandum of peace to UN’s Head Quarters; details of the plan need to be meticulously drafted, parties need to be within her knowledge, state of mental slash physical health is obliged to meet a certain minimum requirement, etc. So when Mama consented me to trail them to Chilling, it took me a couple of minutes to digest her words, ensuring I misheard nothing. Nope, my sense of hearing was completely working!

Apa lagi, we went straightly to the nearest 24 hours grocer and did some shopping.

And the one who looks like a kindergarten kid here is the master planner.

By the way, if I may share with you my humblest two cents, never ever underestimate the power of Chilling River. Climbing up to its seventh station was no shrinking violet! Before we began the journey my not so learned friend briefed us that the ‘mini’ jungle trekking will take roughly half an hour, seven streams level buku lali only, and basically everything that falls into the category of ‘you have nothing to be afraid of’. Is anyone named Adam reading this? Hehe.

So bearing his words of wisdom in mind, I wore only a very thin selipar jepun, packed ‘necessities’ inside my River Island’s leather backpack, and oh when I mentioned necessities it includes perfume, make up and lotions… I know right? What was I thinking?

The journey took almost two hours, a complete contrast to Adam’s previous contention. The streams’ current was damn strong that some of us almost got drowned. Six cell-phones were destroyed, luckily the iPhone clans survived phewww! (Moral of the story: nothing beats Apple, period). But at the end of the day, the climb was reaaaally worth it!

Finally ticked one item in my uni bucket-list.

WHAT’S UNI LIFE WITHOUT WATERFALL PICNIC YOU TELL ME??

Mira’s Convocation

Mira graduated a couple of days ago and being a pioneer in the trio to be honoured in graduating robe and mortar board whatnots, Qeela and I were literally obliged to attend her big day. Believe me when I claim everytime we chatted in the Whatsapp group, she reminded us on a constant basis;

“Jemput hadir semua konvo aku Rabu ni bersama bunga”

What a cordial invitation. Like we actually had any choice, durh. Continue reading “Mira’s Convocation”
